South River High School 2008 Fall Baseball Program

Fall baseball is not an "official" school sport so there is no need to attend the Fall Sports Meeting on August 11.

This program is intended to help develop prospective and current players to compete for positions on the spring varsity and junior varsity baseball teams at SRHS.  Incoming freshmen are particularly encouraged to participate.  The cost per player is $250 to cover equipment, jerseys, league and umpire fees.  Checks should be made payable to:

Last season, two teams were fielded and played in the fall high school eligible league.  This league is ONLY for those students attending high school.  Therefore, no players are allowed to “play up” for this league.  We hope to field two or potentially three teams this fall.  Games will be played on weekends with practices held during the week.  All participants will practice together to insure consistent instruction is provided.  Teams will share rosters to allow players to move between the various teams to accommodate schedules and skill levels.

Students playing a fall sport (football, soccer, etc.) may play when they are available without regard to attending practices.  However, the difficulty in doing so should be seriously considered as young bodies need time to recover.  Participation in the fall program does NOT guarantee a player will make the spring teams.  This program is strictly voluntary.
